In the year 2055, a business called Time Safari allows the rich to travel back in time and hunt a live dinosaur. Lead by Dr. Travis Ryer (Edward Burns), the teams are instructed not to disturb any element of their surroundings. But when a hunter accidentally steps on a butterfly in the past, this minor event causes a series of catastophic changes to the present. Only Dr. Sonia Rand (Catherine McCormack), the inventor of time travel technology, can help them reverse the effects before it's too late.
