Who the hell are you?

Eric Rogge is a blogger, editor, and movie reviewer who built The Slow Roll from the ground up. He has worked for television shows as varied as America's Next Top Model and Deadliest Catch. His most personal thoughts and musings can be found at LA Boy . Daniel J. Blau has worked as a producer for nearly every reality show in Hollywood history. He has put words in the mouths of everyone from Tyra to Tori to several men named "John." He is also a staff writer emeritus at Television Without Pity, which means he was basically there when the internet was invented.

How often do you update?

When we're covering a movie, we update the website every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. We update the blog whenever something like Jon Voight's accent in Anaconda happens and we have to tell someone right away.

Where does the term "slow roll" come from?

It sounded like the most accurate name for a website based on watching movies very, very slowly. But actually, we first started using the term as it referred to shots in movies of a car tumbling down a hill in slow motion (and usually exploding). It's an image that perfectly sums up what it means to watch disaster in excruciating detail, unable to tear your eyes away.

Why do you hate so many movies? Are you angry all the time?

No! We love these movies! A common misconception about The Slow Roll is that we tear apart these films out of maliciousness, or a juvenile impulse to lash out at the people who worked on them. In actuality, this website is founded on the juvenile impulse to make fun of these movies -- with emphasis on the word fun. We love watching these movies! We buy them, we are entertained by them, we show them to our friends -- all things that should please any filmmaker with a good sense of humor.

Are there video clips on your site?

No. Each chapter is a written summary and analysis of one portion of the movie. If you're looking for video clips, check out our growing collection of clips on our YouTube channel , or purchase a used copy of the movie for like $1 (through our Amazon.com Associates account, of course).

UPDATE: Sadly, our YouTube channel was terminated. Something about copyright infringement? Someone will have to write in and explain what that means, since there's never been copyright infringement on YouTube before.

Will you ever slow roll more than one movie at a time?

Probably not. The beauty of these movies is how much they give back if you give them your undivided attention. If we tried to cover more than one movie at a time, we might have to be less detailed or update less frequently, and frankly, Elizabethtown deserves better than that.

How do you decide which movie to do next?

We have a short list of those movies we're most eager to dissect, but we would also like to cover a wide range of genres, so each movie should be extremely different from the last in terms of genre, budget, and most hilariously, artistic ambition.

Do sequels count?

If they suck enough.
